Activities on Maui in May 2019

There are plenty of activities on Maui in May.  Spring is a wonderful time to visit Maui.  The snowbirds have come and gone and the busy summer season hasn’t started yet.  There are typically great deals on all the favorite tours. Our featured activity idea for May is a helicopter tour! This is a great way to see our island!  In addition to the typical hiking, biking, snorkeling and paddle boarding you can find a long list of additional cultural and site seeing offerings below.  Check it out!

Our Maalaea Surf Resort located centrally, right on Sugar Beach, makes a great home base for all your Maui adventures.

May Weather on Maui

The island of Maui is made up of a number of different sub-climates. Depending on where you are the weather can be very different. Each area has its own general weather pattern. The Maalaea Surf Resort is located in the central valley of Maui surrounded on either side by huge mountainous regions.  The valley is usually sunny.

Temperatures range from the mid 60’s in the evenings to the mid-80’s during the day.  The ocean temperature is a very comfortable 79-80 degrees. If you are planning a trip to the Haleakala Crater be sure to bring layers of warmer clothing as at 10,000 feet the summit temperatures can drop below freezing.

At the Maalaea Surf Resort our average daytime high in April is 83 degrees with a low at night of 61 degrees. We typically have 3 days of rain.
